Police mobilise ICT experts, others to track Anisulowo’s abductors
Three days after the abduction of former Minister of state for Education, Senator Iyabode Anisulowo, by gunmen, the police in Ogun state have moved ICT experts to Ilaro, the headquarters of Yewa South Local Government Area to track down the kidnappers and also rescue her unhurt.
Senator Iyabode Anisulowo was kidnapped by some armed men on Wednesday along Sawonjo/Iganokoto road in Yewa area of Ogun State and her whereabouts remained unknown even as her abductors had not yet make any demand.
On Thursday, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, visited the Ilaro home of Anisulowo and assured that the woman would be found and rescued safely.
In a statement on Friday, the spokesman
of the state’s police command, Mr.Muyiwa Adejobi, said the Police Commissioner, Mr. Abdulmajid Ali, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, Assistant Commissioner of Police(Operations) and officers in Charge of the Special Anti Robbery Squad; Anti Kidnapping Squad; State Intelligence Bureau and Police Mobile Force have moved to Ilaro for the rescue operation.
According to Adejobi, detectives are also presently working with other security agencies and special teams from the office of Inspector General of Police,Force Headquarters, Abuja to rescue Senator Anisulowo without delay.
“CP Abdulmajid Ali wishes to inform the general public that the police have some clues as the Toyota SUV of the victim, with Reg No Lagos LSD 115 AM,and some items have been recovered, and this will definitely catalyze the forensic investigation into the matter and immediate rescue of the victim.
“ Ali, therefore appeals to the general public to be patient and remain calm as the rescue operation will be a success and that the command will, by all means, tackle any crimes or violent crimes in Ogun State,” Adejobi said.
