The angry protesters were armed with leave branches and placards with various inscriptions such as “Pay our salaries “ ,”Shall we die bef
ore you pay us” , “we are saving life, pay our salaries and safe us from hunger” among others.
Some workers who spoke with LEADERSHIP said lives had become so unbearable as they can no longer feed their families due to their unpaid salaries.
According to them, men among them could no longer function as good husbands at home again.
The workers who are from Mother and Child Hospitals and Trauma Centre said despite their professional contributions to the medical village, which had accorded the state, international recognition, the state government had refused to pay their wages.
