Ekweremadu, who led other members of the National Assembly from Enugu State to the area, described the damage done to the community as devastating.
He assured them that the incidents would bring an end to
unprovoked attack by herdsmen, even as he expressed shock over the number of deaths recorded during the attack.
Meanwhile, the apex Igbo social cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has urged the federal government and the Enugu State Government to carry out thorough investigation into the recent attack on Nimbo Community and ensure the perpetuators are brought to book.
This was contained in a communique issued at the end of its Imeobi meeting in Enugu, yesterday, where the group expressed disappointment at the obvious security lapses which allowed the heinous act to be committed at Nimbo community.
The communique read by Professor Paul Modum on behalf the President General of Ohanaeze, Gary Igariwe, also rejected the Grazing Bill at the National Assembly explaining that cattle rearing is a private business and therefore should not be used to infringe on the rights of individuals and communities.
